I’m not a child specialist by any means, but I have had some personal
experience with child health care. I gather some knowledge regarding child
health care by reading related books and journal and have found some natural
remedies that are helpful so I wanted to share.
Treating your child's cold or fever
Will chicken soup really help my child's cold?
It’s possible. Some studies suggest chicken soup may help reduce inflammation. If nothing else, it's nutritious and can help prevent dehydration. Also give plenty of other fluids, like water, milk or an electrolyte solution. Other home remedies to try: inhaled steam from a hot shower (take care to avoid scalds), or a cool mist vaporizer may help a stuffy nose.
Vapor rubs
Vapor rubs gently applied to the chest and back can help soothe the symptoms of a cold in babies and young children. Don't apply it to their nostrils to avoid pain and breathing problems.
